Orlando Bloom, who will be attending the Venice Film Festival as part of the cast of Warner Herzogโs competition title โBucking Fastard,โ is set to be feted on the Lido with the Filming Italy International Award from Filming Italy โ Los Angeles, the event that bridges Italy and Hollywood.
Bloom will receive the award, which is not connected to the Venice Film Festival, on Sept. 6.

Rocca, who heads Filming Italy and also leads the Taormina Film Festival, praised Bloom as โan actor of extraordinary charisma, capable of captivating audiences around the world with his elegance, talent and versatility,โ noting that he has โachieved international fame thanks to his participation in two of the greatest film sagas of all time: โThe Lord of the Ringsโ and โPirates of the Caribbean.’โ
Bloom recently appeared in Sean Ellisโ boxing thriller โThe Cut,โ which he also produced through his production company Amazing Owl, and crime comedy caper โDeep Cover,โ a Prime Video U.K. Original movie directed by Tom Kingsley.
In โBucking Fastard,โ Bloom plays Gareth Mulroney, the lover of inseparable, synchronized twin sisters Jean and Joan Holbrooke (played by real-life sisters Kate and Rooney Mara) whom they obsess over after becoming tabloid sensations, according to the filmโs synopsis.
The upcoming 83rd Venice Film Festival runs from Sept. 2 to 12.
