‘Heated Rivalry’ Actor Dylan Walsh ‘in Trouble’ Over Cameo Clip

โ€œHeated Rivalryโ€ actor Dylan Walsh has found himself on thin ice after revealing details about upcoming episodes in a video clip that has gone viral.

Walsh, who plays David Hollander on the hit hockey romance, recently paused his account on the celebrity video app Cameo after he got โ€œin troubleโ€ โ€“ in his words โ€“ for over-sharing in a clip about the upcoming second season of the series, which just began filming.

โ€œGetting ready to go back up to Canada and shoot some more episodesโ€ฆ so, I think weโ€™re doing 12 this time,โ€ Walsh says in a clip, posted on X, taken from a video recorded for a fan on Cameo.

As creator Jacob Tierney has said that he doesnโ€™t want to make more than six episodes per season, Walshโ€™s comment possibly implies that the production is filming Season 2 and Season 3 together, or that Season 2 would be split in half, according to some fans.

โ€œI donโ€™t need to do 10 [episodes in a season],โ€ Tierney told the Los Angeles Times in February. โ€œI would always rather tighten the belt than get loosey-goosey. I would rather be like, โ€˜Letโ€™s see how much story we can pack into these episodes.โ€™โ€

According to Entertainment Week, a note on Walshโ€™s Cameo account stated that itโ€™s unavailable for personalized videos until August 2027, and the actor posted a message under his profile on the app that said, โ€œStepping away because a video went viral that got me in trouble.โ€

As EW notes, Walshโ€™s slipup could prove ironic as Rachel Reidโ€™s novel โ€œThe Long Game,โ€ from which the second season is adapted, includes a plot point around a video going viral on a Cameo-like app.

The show follows two rival professional ice hockey players, Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), who are in a secret relationship. Walsh plays Shaneโ€™s dad, who learns of their love affair when he walks in on them kissing in the Season 1 finale.

Season 2 is expected to premiere in the spring of 2027.
