Itโs the end of an era at E! as the network has announced that โE! Newsโ will end after more than three decades on the air.
The network informed its employees on Thursday, July 24, that the long-running pop culture news program will sunset in the next two months, TODAY.com has learned. While the first broadcast following the surprising news will be a repeat episode, new shows will return next week.
โE! Newsโ will continue to air new episodes until its final taping on Sept. 25. (E! is part of NBCUniversal, TODAYโs parent company.)
Other broadcasted pop culture shows like โAccess Hollywoodโ and โAccess Dailyโ were not impacted and will still record new episodes.
As the cable series comes to an end, E! will shift its focus to growing its digital and social media platforms through its website, E! Online, and shows like โE! Newsโ TheโฏRundownโ on Snapchat, โHot Gossโ on Instagram and โRE!CAPโ on YouTube.
Although the pop culture staple has been canceled, TODAY.com has confirmed that the network will continue its red carpet coverage show โLive from E!โ and that it will be the home of the 31st annual Critics Choice Awards on Jan 4, 2026.
โE! Newsโ is currently hosted by anchors Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester, along with correspondents Jason Kennedy, Will Marfuggi, Francesca Amiker, Carolina Bermudez, Courtney Lopez and Emily Curl.
โE! Newsโ began in 1991. The show made major changes in 2019 when it relocated from a nightly broadcast in Los Angeles to a morning news program in New York. Then, the following year it was canceled after 29 seasons by NBCUniversal in 2020 due to the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
In October 2022, NBCUniversal announced that โE! Newsโ was returning with new hosts Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and Sylvester, and it would reclaim its nighttime slot.

Now, the โE! Newsโ set will shut down once again, this time after 34 years of delivering celebrity news and gossip.
