Malala Yousafzai Posts About Marriage To Asser Malik: โ€˜Free Relationship Adviceโ€™

Malala Yousafzai is sharing one of the perks that can come from a relationship with an age gap โ€” even a slight one.

The 28-year-old activist shared an Instagram reel with husband Asser Malik, 31, sharing snippets from their trip to Dublin, Ireland.

“Here’s some free relationship advice: If you marry someone slightly older, like I did, you will suddenly be at legendary rock concerts,โ€ she began in the clip.

โ€œAnd I will admit,โ€ she continued, โ€œOasis in Dublin ended up being a show I loved as much as Asser.โ€

Yousafzai described the evening at Croke Park as โ€œ80,000 people singing โ€˜Wonderwallโ€™ in unison, fireworks lighting up the sky,โ€ adding, โ€œDublin you are magic.โ€

In the brief video, Yousafzai detailed more moments their eventful getaway, sharing that they โ€œhopped on a plane to Dublin to see some beautiful scenery, a quick morning hike, around to see Cliffs of Howth, taking in the ocean.โ€

She and her husband grabbed some seafood in a beachside village before heading to the historic library at Trinity College.

โ€œEverywhere we went, the Irish people were just so warm. They made us feel immediately at home,โ€ she gushed.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner captioned the video, โ€œDefinitely maybe an amazing weekend in Dublin: laughter in its pubs, wisdom in its library and fireworks in its skies.โ€

In response to one commenter who asked how her trip is related to marrying someone older, Yousafzai said, โ€œBecause Oasis released their first three albums before I was born!โ€ with a laughing emoji.

Malik shared a selfie from the night on his own Instagram page, writing that Oasis was the “soundtrack of my teenage years” growing up in Pakistan.

โ€œIt felt surreal to finally see them live- made even better by sharing it with the one person Iโ€™d want right there beside me,โ€ he wrote with a red heart emoji.

The Oasis concert in Dublin comes about one year after Yousafzai attended her โ€œfirst-ever proper concert.โ€ She and Malik saw Taylor Swift perform during her legendary “Eras Tour” at Londonโ€™s Wembley Stadium in August 2024.

At the time, the Pakistan native shared a carousel of photos on Instagram and penned a powerful message about how “music no longer plays on the streets, and girls and women are barred from school, work and public life” after the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan.

โ€œOne day I hope we will live in a world where every girl will be able to enjoy music and live out her wildest dreams,โ€ she wrote.

Yousafzai frequently posts about traveling, watching sports and enjoying life with Malik, whom she married in November 2021.

When the โ€œBarbieโ€ movie was released in July 2023, the two posed for a photo inside a faux doll box while Yousafzai poked fun at Barbieโ€™s catch phrase in the caption.

โ€œThis Barbie has a Nobel Prize. Heโ€™s just Ken,โ€ she joked. โ€œWe loved the movie, it was so funny and thoughtful I hope this caption doesnโ€™t hurt all the Kens as much as the movie Ken.โ€

In March 2023, the couple attended the Oscars in support of a film she executive produced called โ€œStranger at the Gate,โ€ which was nominated for best documentary short.

In a social media post, she boasted about her husbandโ€™s red carpet garb, writing that he was โ€œlooking handsome as ever in his tux.โ€
