Tim Burton is bringing Halloween Town to the luxury fashion world.
Loewe has teamed up with the filmmaker and Disney for a new capsule collection inspired by the 1993 stop-motion classic “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” marking the Spanish fashion house’s latest foray into Hollywood-inspired fashion. The collection, launching Nov. 12, will span handbags, ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories and scented candles.
Among the pieces teased ahead of the launch are a handbag featuring a Jack Skellington illustration hidden in its lining, a crocheted Wolfman keychain and a woven black-and-orange leather bucket bag adorned with protruding snakes. Other designs take inspiration from the film’s eccentric cast of characters, including Zero and the Harlequin Demon.

The collaboration brings together Burton and Loewe creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who took the reins at the LVMH-owned label in 2025. The partnership draws on the shared emphasis on craftsmanship between the fashion house and Burton’s approach to filmmaking, particularly the handmade puppets, sets and intricate animation that brought “The Nightmare Before Christmas” to life.
“I love [stop motion] because it’s all handmade,” Burton told Vanity Fair in an interview accompanying the announcement. “When you see the puppets and the sets, you wish everybody could experience the tactile nature of what goes into making a stop-motion film, or any film.”
The filmmaker also reflected on how the rise of artificial intelligence has deepened his appreciation for the human element of artistic creation. “The more [AI] keeps going that way, the more I appreciate [the human] side of it. I think it’s something that’s very important to keep in the world, the tactile, not being on a screen all the time and doing all that sort of thing. To me, [humanity] is very important to life and art and anything, really.”
Although closely associated with Burton, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” was directed by Henry Selick and based on an original poem by Burton, who also produced the film. Released by Disney’s Touchstone Pictures banner in 1993, the musical fantasy follows Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, as he attempts to take over Christmas.
The release continues Loewe’s longstanding relationship with the entertainment industry, particularly its collaborations with beloved animated films. Under former creative director Jonathan Anderson, the house partnered with Japan’s Studio Ghibli on three collections inspired by “My Neighbor Totoro” in 2021, “Spirited Away” in 2022 and “Howl’s Moving Castle” in 2023.
The label’s Hollywood connections also extend to the screen. Anderson, during his tenure at Loewe, developed a close creative partnership with director Luca Guadagnino, designing costumes for the filmmaker’s 2024 releases “Challengers,” starring Zendaya, and “Queer,” starring Daniel Craig. Loewe also enlisted Guadagnino to direct a short film for its Spring/Summer 2024 campaign.
