Taylor Swift has scored a second week atop the Billboard Hot 100 with โPatient Zero,โ the lead single off of โThe Life of Showgirl: The Encore.โ
โPatient Zeroโ is one of four new Swift songs included on โEncore,โ which, just yesterday, earned her a 100th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for all of her albums combined. The track earned 17.4 million official streams, down 50 percent week over week, and on the Streaming Songs chart, it slips from No. 1 to 2. โPatient Zeroโ is Swiftโs 51st career week at No. 1 on the Hot 100, giving her the fifth-highest total in chart history for weeks at No. 1 behind Mariah Carey (101), Rihanna (60), the Beatles (59) and Drake (58).
Speaking of Drake, the Toronto rapper bowed at No. 5 on the Hot 100 with โSolar Eclipse,โ his collaboration with Don Toliver that puts a spin on Ella Langleyโs โChoosinโ Texas,โ which itself holds at No. 2 following a record 24 weeks at No. 1. โSolar Eclipseโ first debuted as part of Drakeโs โFear of Missing Outโ film that he aired on YouTube in mid-September, and was subsequently released to streaming services as part of his โHabibti (FOMO)โ edition along with three other new songs.
The other notable debut on the Hot 100 this week came from Slovakian pop newcomer Adรฉla, whose swaggery โNicole Kidmanโ jumped from No. 12 to 9. The track became her first Hot 100 entry last month, while her other single, โAinโt in LA,โ remains in the top 30. Her chart presence continues to grow following the release of her debut album โPrimaโ in early September, bolstered by her โRed Bottomsโ tour thatโs currently working its way through North America.
