โSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verseโ is the latest movie to get hit by an unauthorized leak.
The trailer for the third โSpider-Verseโ movie, which is scheduled to hit theaters on June 18, 2027, appeared to leak online on Twitter/X this week. Co-writer and producer Chris Miller disavowed the leak on Friday, writing โNot a fan of unfinished, not fully rendered footage.โ
โBeyond the Spider-Verseโ is the latest high-profile movie to suffer a leak. This past month, billion-dollar blockbusters โThe Odysseyโ and โSpider-Man: Brand New Dayโ both leaked onto X after their theatrical releases.
Earlier this year, the full version of โAvatar Aang: The Last Airbenderโ also leaked onto X months before its Paramount+ streaming release. A 26-year-old man was later arrested in Singapore for illegally accessing a media server and leaking the film. The โAvatar Aangโ cast and original โLast Airbenderโ stars soon spoke out against the breach and urged fans to not watch the unauthorized version.
โThereโs something about respecting the intentions of the creators and many artists who poured years of their life into this. To go about it the proper way is a very respectful way of showing appreciation to the art form and to the many, many, countless hours put into this,โ star Eric Nam told Variety at Comic-Con after the leak. โThank you guys for waiting.โ
