Spider-Man: Beyond Spider-Verse Trailer Leaks Online, Chris Miller Reacts

โ€œSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verseโ€ is the latest movie to get hit by an unauthorized leak.

The trailer for the third โ€œSpider-Verseโ€ movie, which is scheduled to hit theaters on June 18, 2027, appeared to leak online on Twitter/X this week. Co-writer and producer Chris Miller disavowed the leak on Friday, writing โ€œNot a fan of unfinished, not fully rendered footage.โ€

โ€œBeyond the Spider-Verseโ€ is the latest high-profile movie to suffer a leak. This past month, billion-dollar blockbusters โ€œThe Odysseyโ€ and โ€œSpider-Man: Brand New Dayโ€ both leaked onto X after their theatrical releases.

Earlier this year, the full version of โ€œAvatar Aang: The Last Airbenderโ€ also leaked onto X months before its Paramount+ streaming release. A 26-year-old man was later arrested in Singapore for illegally accessing a media server and leaking the film. The โ€œAvatar Aangโ€ cast and original โ€œLast Airbenderโ€ stars soon spoke out against the breach and urged fans to not watch the unauthorized version.

โ€œThereโ€™s something about respecting the intentions of the creators and many artists who poured years of their life into this. To go about it the proper way is a very respectful way of showing appreciation to the art form and to the many, many, countless hours put into this,โ€ star Eric Nam told Variety at Comic-Con after the leak. โ€œThank you guys for waiting.โ€
