Jenna Bush Hager greeted Machine Gun Kelly with a surprise gift on TODAY with Jenna & Friends!
Jenna said she had a surprise for MGK at the beginning of the interview on Aug. 7, and pulled out a onesie for his new baby, Saga Blade.
Kelly, born Colson Baker, smiled as he took the onesie and began inspecting it for size to ensure it would still fit his 4-month-old daughter.
When asked about life with his new baby, he immediately gave all the credit to Saga’s mother, Megan Fox.
“I want to detract any of, like, the congrats to me, and just move it to Megan, because she really does all the work,” he said.
Kelly recalled a moment when someone said he was “such a good dad,” and he shared he was just simply holding the baby.
“She is the one — I just play the guitar and pray that the baby is happy,” he pointed out, saying that he keeps on getting called “the music teacher.”
Fox announced she was pregnant in November 2024, and Kelly said the pair had welcomed their baby girl on March 27.
“She’s finally here!! our little celestial seed,” he wrote in the caption of an Instagram video showing him holding his daughter’s tiny hand.
Earlier this year, Kelly revealed his daughter’s name in another Instagram post: Saga Blade Fox-Baker.
While performing on TODAY in June, Kelly shared more details about the meaning behind his daughter’s name, explaining it was a nod to Fox’s past experience with pregnancy loss.
“The five years of her culmination of coming, disappearing, coming back again, disappearing, coming back again — she is an epic story, and that’s what Saga means,” he said.
He added that the name also references his Nordic heritage, as the name Sága in Norse mythology refers to the goddess of storytelling.
Saga Blade is Fox’s fourth child, along with her three sons, Noah, Bodhi and Journey, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green.
MGK is also dad to his 16-year-old daughter, Casie, whom he shares with his ex Emma Cannon.
Jenna asked if Casie has gotten her driver’s license since she celebrated her 16th birthday last month, and Kelly revealed she will probably get one before he does.
“Something about this family and driver’s licenses — she missed some mark, now she can’t get it till September,” he said. “Either way, she’ll get hers before mine.”
Guest co-host Matt Rogers suggested Kelly and Casie could learn to drive at the same time, and he replied with what will actually go down.
“I think it will be a double-standard situation where I’ll be like, ‘Hey, I paid for your childhood, so you will now chauffeur me around,” he joked.
