Harvey Keitel Stars in New York Acting Drama ‘The Method’

Harvey Keitel stars as a celebrated acting teacher in “The Method,” the first feature from director and co-writer Gaurav Bhardwaj, produced by “CTRL” banner Travelin Bone Entertainment alongside Imagination Infinite Motion Pictures.

Mina Sundwall (“Murdaugh: Death in the Family,” “Lost in Space”) also features, as do Rakshit Bhuchar and Rohan Maletira, both of whom make their feature debuts with the film.

The story plays out in New York’s cutthroat acting scene, where a talented Indian actor chasing his craft falls under the sway of Keitel’s teacher. As ambition, friendship and artistic ideals pull against one another, the mentor challenges every one of them to consider what they would give up to succeed.

Production has wrapped in the New York and New Jersey area, and the film is expected to release in 2027.

“‘The Method’ is not simply a film about acting,” said Bhardwaj. “It explores the journeys of four artists: an Indian actor, a Canadian actor, an American playwright and director, and a revered acting teacher portrayed by the legendary actor, Harvey Keitel. At its core, it is a film about aspiration and relationships.”

Bhardwaj added that every character and arc carried personal weight for him, since at some point in his own creative career he had stood where each of them stands. “The film explores the universal struggle to preserve our identities when our ambitions begin demanding that we sacrifice parts of ourselves. I want audiences to experience the same conflict our characters face – the tension between the relationships we value and the ambitions we choose to pursue.”

Travelin Bone was set up by Marc Sternberg, Steve Garrow and Naresh Malik. Its Netflix original film “CTRL” preceded “The Method,” and the company is building out a film and TV slate aimed at both Indian and global viewers.

“With ‘The Method,’ we are bringing together exceptional talent and creative teams from both countries,” said Garrow, the company’s co-founder and CEO. “It has been a wonderful experience working with Gaurav and witnessing the clarity and confidence with which he has approached his first feature film, particularly alongside an iconic actor like Harvey Keitel.”

Garrow also credited Sundwall with real depth and presence on screen and said the two newcomers had delivered work beyond what he had expected.

“‘The Method’ reflects the philosophy of my company in many ways,” said Lalit Bhatnagar, founder of Imagination Infinite Motion Pictures. “We are at a moment when content is becoming increasingly global – and so is talent. The traditional boundaries between industries and markets are becoming less relevant, creating an extraordinary opportunity to bring together artists from different backgrounds to tell compelling stories.”
