ESPN and Words + Pictures Partner for Six-Part Nick Saban Docuseries

ESPN and Words + Pictures have unveiled their new six-part docuseries โ€œSaban,โ€ which chronicles the life and storied career of the former University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban.

According to an official logline, โ€œthe series will tell the story of Nick Sabanโ€™s extraordinary career, highlighted by his 17 seasons at Alabama, where he led the team to six national titles and reestablished the Crimson Tide as the preeminent program in college football.โ€

โ€œWith my coaching days behind me, Ms. Terry and I have been doing a lot of reflection and realized we were ready to tell our story,โ€ Nick Saban said. โ€œThe team at Words + Pictures has encouraged me to really look back not just at my time at Alabama, but every stop along the way โ€“ and not just reflect on what happened but consider the process which made it happen. I interacted with a lot of players and coaches along the way and Iโ€™m happy to see that so many of them have contributed to this docuseries. Thereโ€™s a lot to tell, and Iโ€™m excited to share it all.โ€

Russell Dinallo serves as director while Connor Schell, Libby Geist, Aaron Cohen, Alexa Conway and Tom Rinaldi will produce under Words + Pictures. Gabe Honig serves as showrunner and co-executive producer.

โ€œThere will never be another Nick Saban,โ€ said Schell, CEO of Words + Pictures. โ€œHeโ€™s a football genius, a singular leader, and a true icon who has done more than anyone to shape the modern game of college football and the culture around it.โ€

Details such as premiere date and episode rollout will be revealed at a later date.
