The first of two Creative Arts ceremonies are being held at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
Going into Emmys week, HBO’s hit medical series “The Pitt” — the incumbent drama winner — led all programs with a whopping 25 nominations, including outstanding drama and 13 acting nods (with star Noah Wyle up for lead actor). That was nearly double last year’s 13 nods for the show.
“The Pitt” was followed closely by another HBO Max smash, “Hacks,” which earned 24 nominations for its fifth season, the most ever for a comedy. (“Hacks” beat out the previous record holders, “The Bear” and “The Studio,” which both had 23 nods.) Star Jean Smart is now in line to win her fifth Emmy for the show and her eighth overall, which would put her in a tie for the actress with the most Emmy acting wins in history.
Presenters for the first night of the Creative Arts Emmy Award include: Nyesha Arrington, Brittany Broski, Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, Sean Evans, R’Bonney Gabriel, Bill Glass, Colin Hanks, Brianna LaPaglia, Ariana Madix, Heather McMahan, Julianne Hough Julie Chen Moonves, Kareem Rahma, Lisa Rinna, Stassi Schroeder, Wanda Sykes, Chris “CT” Tamburello, Jet Tila, Whitney Way Thore and West Wilson.
The previously announced juried awards will also be handed out this evening. Adult Swim’s “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal” took home two Emmys for outstanding individual achievement in animation. While Peacock’s “The Traitors” and Fox’s “The Masked Singer” were honored in the outstanding costumes for variety, nonfiction or reality programming categories.
The Creative Arts Emmys are being handed out at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, and an edited presentation of the 2026 ceremonies will broadcast on Sept. 12, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on FXX.
