“Avengers: Doomsday” Pre-sales Cross  Million


Doomsday typically indicates disaster, but for Marvel Studios that term is forecasting booming box office.

Disney reports that the next entry in the sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe โ€œAvengers: Doomsday,โ€ has already made $50 million in domestic pre-sales, three months before the movieโ€™s Dec. 18 release date. The studio reported that more than 70% of those pre-sales are for Infinity Vision tickets, emphasizing the audienceโ€™s appetite to see for premium large format screens.

The news was announced Wednesday by Walt Disney Company senior executive VP & Chief Financial Officer, Hugh Johnston, at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, โ€œAvengers: Doomsdayโ€ sees massive assembly of MCU superheroes, including the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts and the original โ€œX-Men,โ€ teaming up to face their most formidable foe yet: Victor Von Doom. Robert Downey Jr. returns to play the franchiseโ€™s new Big Bad after Tony Stark/Iron Man, died at at the end of โ€œAvengers: Endgame.โ€
