โReacherโ star Alan Ritchson had plans to adapt the second book in the popular โJack Reacherโ series for the Prime Video show โ before a certain โsomeoneโ got re-elected, he wrote in a comment posted to Threads on Friday.
Responding to a user who wrote that โevery year Iโm sad to learn that next season wonโt be the book where he kills his way through a white supremacist militia camp,โ Ritchson explained that the novel (titled โDie Tryingโ) is his โfavorite book.โ โFun fact: I had it approved until someone got re-elected.โ
The thriller novel by author Lee Child was originally released in 1998, and as the comment suggests, follows Jack Reacher and a politicianโs daughter as they are abducted by a radical militia to be used as leverage in political negotiations.
While Ritchson didnโt call out a politician by name, he has been outspoken about Trump and his disapproval of the politician in the past. On an episode of the โHappy Sad Confused With Josh Horowitzโ podcast, the actor spoke about the Epstein files and Trump, saying โThat b-tch has the keys to the nuclear codesโฆ Heโs like all up into the 13-year-olds. Like dude, go to jail.โ
His comments earned him a response from White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson. โJust as President Trump has said, heโs been totally exonerated on anything relating to Epstein,โ she said in a public statement.
Season 4 of โReacherโ premiered in August on Prime Video. Season 3 of the show was Prime Videoโs most-watched season on the service since โFalloutโ Season 1; it earned a Season 5 renewal ahead of the premiere of Season 4.
