Doomsday typically indicates disaster, but for Marvel Studios that term is forecasting booming box office.
Disney reports that the next entry in the sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe โAvengers: Doomsday,โ has already made $50 million in domestic pre-sales, three months before the movieโs Dec. 18 release date. The studio reported that more than 70% of those pre-sales are for Infinity Vision tickets, emphasizing the audienceโs appetite to see for premium large format screens.
The news was announced Wednesday by Walt Disney Company senior executive VP & Chief Financial Officer, Hugh Johnston, at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference.
