Jonathan and Drew Scott are getting real about a past argument they had when it came to their salaries.
The โProperty Brothersโ appeared on SiriusXMโs โAndy Cohen Live,โ where the host asked if he went into their bank accounts, would they have the same amount of money?
The question then prompted Jonathan Scott to share his thoughts on how he should have been paid more on their show.
โI used to film three times more than Drew because he would be there in the beginning, and then he would come back at the end of an episode, and I was there doing the work,โ he said to Andy Cohen. โAnd I remember after doing this for 10 years, because weโve been on the air now for over 15 years, I remember I finally said to Drew, Iโm like, โShould I maybe get paid three times what you get paid?โ And heโs like, โYouโre never allowed to bring this up again ever.โโ
Drew Scott, on his end, replied that it’s because he also deals with the contracts.
When Cohen asked if that was a real fight they had in the past, the brothers confirmed that it was.
โOff camera, Jonathan and I both do the construction,โ Drew Scott added. โHeโs a licensed contractor, but weโve both done the renovations for years. And also he was a licensed broker. So weโve done both sides of the fence.โ
He also added that they have their product line and their multi-family real estate portfolio, which adds to their income.
โSo thereโs a lot outside of what people see on the shows,โ Drew Scott said.
Jonathan and Drew shot the pilot for โProperty Brothersโ in 2009, which then debuted in 2011. Since then, the twins have launched a slew of successful spinoffs over the years, including โBrother vs. Brother,โ โProperty Brothers: Forever Homeโ and โBacked by the Bros.โ
They also have a production company called Scott Brothers Entertainment, as well as home collections (Scott Living and Drew & Jonathan Home) and a lifestyle website.
Just last year, the siblings renovated their parentsโ new home in Los Angeles.
โWe wanted our parents to feel just as much at home here as they did at their ranch in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, so we tailored the home perfectly to them,โ the brothers wrote in the September/October 2024 issue of HGTV Magazine. โThey couldnโt be happier, and weโre so thrilled with this project that we filmed the whole reno process for our new show, โDonโt Hate Your House with the Property Brothers.โโ
