Larsa Pippen is setting the record straight after social media comments and videos drew attention to changes in the appearance of her face.
After an Aug. 6 interview prompted strong online reactions, the โReal Housewives of Miamiโ star, 51, explained via her own social media page why she appeared โswollen.โ
In a video on her Instagram story on Aug. 8, Pippen stood in front of a mirror in jeans and a bikini top, telling her followers, โYou can relax.โ
โI had PRP on my face a couple days ago, so my face was a bit swollen,โ she said. โIt looks like itโs coming down, so you guys can just calm down.โ
She wrote over the top of the video, โRelax.โ
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, injections use a patientโs own blood to โaccelerate healing in a specific area.โ The treatment can be used for a variety of conditions, including injuries and cosmetic procedures.
On Friday, Pippen also commented on an Instagram video from aesthetics physician Dr. Mai Kaga, who claimed the reality star is โgrossly being overfilled.โ
โFrom excessive facial filler to questionable surgery choices, her transformation is a reminder that not all cosmetic work is good work,โ Kaga captioned the video, in part.
Pippen addressed the physician in the comments, writing, โHoney I had PRP and had an allergic reaction so chill out.โ
Kaga doubled down on her assessment, however, making a separate video, commenting calling allergic reactions to PRP โextremely rare,โ later adding, โallergic reactions donโt last 3 seasons on a streaming network.โ
She then created a poll on her Instagram story for users to vote for โTeam Allergyโ or โTeam Overfilled.โ
The reality star was previously married to NBA legend Scottie Pippen. The former couple divorced in 2021 and share four children: Justin, Preston, Scotty Jr. and Sophia.
