Josh Lucas Marries Brianna Ruffalo Inside the Vatican

Josh Lucas officially married meteorologist Brianna Ruffalo in a ceremony set in Vatican City.

The “Sweet Home Alabama” actor shared photos from their wedding to Instagram July 18. Lucas and Ruffalo shared a kiss in the Vatican in several black-and-white shots, with St. Peter’s Basilica in the background.

In a second post, Lucas posed by leaning against a wall as his new bride walked by in her wedding gown, a lace umbrella in hand.

In the caption, Lucas thanked his photographer, their team of wedding planners and everyone “who helped make the dream of wedding in the #vatican come trueโ€ฆ many many people to thank for this to comeโ€ฆ”

On her own Instagram page, Ruffalo, who works as a meteorologist for ABC 7 in Los Angeles, also shared photos from their nuptials.

“Mr. and Mrs. Incredibly blessed to receive this sacrament together inside the heart of the Catholic Church and holy city,” she captioned a carousel of pics.

In another post, she reflected on the people throughout her life who contributed to her getting married in the seat of the Catholic Church.

“We are grateful to the many people who helped us get to this moment in the Catholic Church,” she wrote in part. “I am so thankful for Father Winters at the parish I grew up in, and Sister Angelica at the archdiocese of Los Angeles- as well as several others within the archdiocese.”

Lucas and Ruffalo, who first started dating about three years ago, announced their engagement on social media in June 2024.

โ€œFor the last 2 years in Every Way and Every Day this beautiful soul has made me and my life better, deeper, and more whole,โ€ Lucas said in his caption at the time. โ€œI am so grateful and thrilled she said โ€˜Yesโ€™. I WAY love you Brianna.โ€

Their wedding day in the Vatican notably comes just months after the Catholic Church elected its next leader, American Robert Prevost, now known as Pope Leo XIV.
