Gwyneth Paltrow Is Astronomer’s ‘Temporary Spokesperson’ After Coldplay Concert Scandal

Gwyneth Paltrow has landed a surprising new gig.

On July 25, Astronomer revealed in a video shared on social media that the actor and Goop founder is now their โ€œtemporary spokesperson.โ€ Debuting in her new role at the data operations company, Paltrow answered the internetโ€™s most-talked-about questions.

Thanking people for their interest in Astronomer, the actor begins by saying sheโ€™s โ€œbeen hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employeesโ€ at the company.

โ€œAstronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days, and they wanted me to answer the most common ones,โ€ she continues, as the first question appears.

โ€œOMG! What the actual f,โ€ it reads, before Paltrow chimes in with her answer.

โ€œYes, Astronomer is the best place to run Apache Airflow. Unifying the experience of running data, ML and AI pipelines at scale. Weโ€™ve been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation,โ€ she replies. โ€œAs for the other questions weโ€™ve received…โ€

The second question then appears on the screen, which reads, โ€œHow is your social media team holding…โ€

Once again, Paltrow interrupts and answers, “Yes, there is still room available at our Beyond Analytics event in September.”

Paltrow continues, โ€œWe will now be returning to what we do best: delivering game-changing results for our customers. Thank you for your interest in Astronomer.โ€

The video comes after the company has made headlines after the resignation of two of its employees. On July 19, Astronomer confirmed that CEO Andy Byron resigned from his position following a viral video from a Coldplay concert.

Additionally, the company’s chief people officer, Kristin Cabot, also left her position, the data operations company confirmed to TODAY.com on July 24.

Byron and Cabot did not respond to NBC Newsโ€™ request for comment.

Byron was identified by social media users as one of the people in a viral video from a July 16 Coldplay concert kiss cam. The clip shows two people embracing before abruptly hiding from the camera.

Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin โ€” and Paltrowโ€™s ex-husband โ€” then joked, โ€œEither theyโ€™re having an affair or theyโ€™re just very shy.โ€ The moment quickly went viral.

After Byron’s resignation, Pete DeJoy was announced as Astronomer’s interim CEO. DeJoy issued a statement on LinkedIn about the companyโ€™s โ€œunusual and surrealโ€ attention it had been getting, without mentioning the viral video.

In his statement, he noted, โ€œWhile I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name.โ€

Meanwhile, people in the comments section of Astronomerโ€™s video with Paltrow praised the company for its creativity.

โ€œGwyneth Paltrow is Chris Martinโ€™s ex wife. 10/10 PR move,โ€ one person wrote, while another added, โ€œINSANE TO GET CHRIS MARTINโ€™S EX.โ€

โ€œApologies, I was unfamiliar with your game ๐Ÿ”ฅ Give your social and PR team their due!!!! And a few well-earned days off!โ€ someone commented.

โ€œbrilliant and very funny!!! kudos to PR team. Iโ€™d buy whatever youโ€™re selling!โ€ read another message.
