Need holiday work? Amazon is adding over 2,000 seasonal jobs in the Charlotte area starting at $19 per hour.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Amazon announced plans to hire more than 2,000 seasonal workers in the Charlotte area as part of a nationwide push to add 250,000 employees for the holiday shopping season.
The positions offer flexible scheduling and an average wage of more than $19 per hour, the company said. North Carolina will see 7,000 seasonal jobs total, with the Raleigh-Durham area expected to add more than 700 positions.
The hiring surge comes as Amazon prepares for its busiest time of year, when online shopping typically peaks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Interested candidates can visit Amazon’s jobs website for weekly job postings through December. The company said open roles fill quickly and urged applicants to check back often.
