Amy Poehler Tells Noah Wyle โ€˜The Pittโ€™ Needs More Romance

Amy Poehler sat down with Noah Wyle on Tuesdayโ€™s episode of her โ€œGood Hangโ€ podcast to discuss both โ€œERโ€ and โ€œThe Pittโ€ on the heels of his Peopleโ€™s Sexiest Man Alive appointment. She also used her time with the actor to provide some feedback on the lack of romance in the latter of the hit medical shows.

โ€œYouโ€™re not asking me for feedback on โ€˜The Pitt,โ€™ but Iโ€™m going to give you a little bit of feedback,โ€ Poehler began. โ€œIf youโ€™re going to show so much guts and blood, if youโ€™re gonna go there โ€” and your makeup team is incredible. The stuff you do is bananas. I donโ€™t watch most of it. I cover my eyes, but I mean, I canโ€™t take it โ€” But if youโ€™re going to show that much, every time you got to get a little smooch. Someoneโ€™s gotta do a little smooch.โ€

Wyle, unconvinced, responded: โ€œOh, you think itโ€™s one for one?โ€ โ€œOne for one, just a tiny smooch,โ€ continued Poehler. โ€œJust one middle of the day [smooch]!โ€ Wyle remained unmoved, though he did say that he would โ€œmaybeโ€ discuss a โ€œone-to-four ratio, but certainly not one to one.โ€ Poehler concluded, โ€œYou gonna show the guts, you gotta show some butts.โ€ (Wyle pointed out that they do show butts on โ€œThe Pitt,โ€ just not in romantic contexts.)

Wyle has played the disgruntled attending physician Dr. Michael โ€œRobbyโ€ Robinavitch for two seasons of HBOโ€™s drama โ€œThe Pitt.โ€ His portrayal of the doctor won him the Golden Globe for best performance by a male actor in a television series, drama in 2026, and back-to-back Emmy awards for best actor in a drama series in both 2025 and 2026.

Season 3 of the hit medical drama is set to premiere in Jan. 2027 and will follow Dr. Robbyโ€™s first day back on the job after a three-month sabbatical at the end of Season 2.
