Co-founder Nate Bolotin is leaving XYZ Films after almost two decades with the studio, Variety can reveal exclusively.
Bolotin started the label in 2008 with partners Nick Spicer and Aram Tertzakian. Since its founding, XYZ has grown into a global film studio, encompassing production, financing, international sales and distribution.
“Nate has been a trusted partner and friend since the company’s inception,” XYZ Films said in a statement. “Our entire team recognizes and appreciates his contributions over the past eighteen years as we’ve grown from a scrappy start-up into the company that we are today. We’re excited to see what he does next.”
XYZ Films continues to be overseen by Spicer, CEO, Maxime Cottray, COO, and Tertzakian, Head of Creative. Key execs include Guy Danella, Head of Film, Pip Ngo, EVP of Sales & Acquisitions, and Marie Garrett, SVP of Sales & Acquisitions.
Upcoming titles from XYZ include “Flesh of the Gods,” with A24, starring Kristen Stewart and Wagner Moura and directed by Panos Cosmatos; “Egg Baby,” with Amazon MGM Studios, starring Ariana Greenblatt and directed by Natalia Anderson; “Banquet,” starring Meghann Fahy and directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia; and “The Girlfriend,” starring Glenn Howerton, Meghann Fahy and Rosario Dawson and directed by Natalie Morales.
