WestEnd Films has boarded world sales on Woody Allenโs new feature, which is set to begin shooting in Madrid on Oct. 5.
Written and directed by Allen, the contemporary comedy will star Marton Csokas (โThe Lord of the Rings,โ โThe Equalizerโ), Jemima Kirke (โGirls,โ โSex Educationโ), Jakob Oftebro (โHamilton,โ โKon-Tikiโ), Peter Vives (โThe Time in Between,โ โVelvetโ) and Alexi Wasser (โMessy,โ โGirlsโ).
Principal photography will take place in the city and region of Madrid. The project, which will be shot in English, will be Allenโs third production shot in Spain after โVicky Cristina Barcelonaโ (2008) and โRifkinโs Festivalโ (2020).
Madrid-based Wanda Vision and Allenโs production banner, Gravier Productions, are producing the title alongside 3SIX9 Studios.
The creative team includes Josรฉ Luis Alcaine, Sonia Grande and Alain Bainรฉe.
โI will be very happy to return to Spain. This will be my third time filming there and my first opportunity to make a film in Madrid, a city I have always loved.โ said Allen.
WestEnd Films will introduce the film to international buyers at the upcoming American Film Market.
The film continues WestEndโs long-standing partnership with Gravier Productions. WestEnd handled world sales on Allenโs recent films including โCoup de Chance,โ which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and was sold to distributors in over 30 countries. WestEnd also represents a library of 25 Allen titles, including โMidnight in Paris,โ โMatch Pointโ and โBlue Jasmine.โ
