J. Smith-Cameron Joins ‘Law & Order: SVU’ in Recurring Role


J. Smith-Cameron is heading to the courthouse.

The Emmy nominee has joined the upcoming Season 28 of โ€œLaw & Order: SVUโ€ in a recurring role. She will play jury consultant Gwen Sharpe, but plot details relating to her character are kept under wraps.

Smith-Cameron is best known for playing Gerri Kellman across four seasons of HBOโ€™s โ€œSuccession.โ€ The role earned her nominations for two Emmy nominations, a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award. She won two SAG Awards for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series.

Smith-Cameron will next be seen in โ€œSeven Sisters,โ€ which was recently picked up to series by FX, opposite Elizabeth Olsen and Cristin Milioti. She will also co-star in Jeff Rutherfordโ€™s upcoming sophomore feature film, โ€œIn Our Sweet Way.โ€ Her TV credits also include โ€œHacks,โ€ โ€œElsbeth,โ€ โ€œMurdaugh: A Death in the Family,โ€ โ€œRectifyโ€ and โ€œWaco: The Aftermath.โ€
