Olivia Rodrigo Exhibit Set for Grammy Museum, Plus Cameron Crowe Q&A

Olivia Rodrigo‘s “The Cure” music video only came out three months ago, but it’s already a museum piece. An exhibit titled “Olivia Rodrigo: The Cure Unraveled” will open at the Grammy Museum in downtown Los Angeles Sept. 2 and run through Feb. 22, 2027, highlighting the props, artwork and sets that were created for what has been heralded as one of the most vivid and effective music videos to be made in recent years.

On the eve of the official opening, Rodrigo will appear in person at the museum, participating in a conversation with filmmaker Cameron Crowe and doing a live performance. Tickets for the intimate presentation, which will obviously be a coveted get, go on sale this weekend (details below).

Any fans planning to see the exhibit right after it opens may want to keep a return visit to the Grammy Museum in mind, too, as an expansion is planned with still more artifacts stretching further back into her past, with the additions currently scheduled only for “early fall.” Additional details about the expanded version of the exhibit are promised to be revealed soon.

But Rodrigo may have had good reasons to kick off the exhibition now, even before it gets the promised early fall expansion. For one thing, she’s in town. The launch at the Grammy Museum exhibit is set to follow right on the heels of this Saturday’s Daisy Chain Fields festival, a one-day gathering being held in Irvine and featuring an all-female lineup headlined by Rodrigo herself. Things will soon heat up for the singer even more as her 86-show “Unraveled Tour” begins back east in Hartford on Sept. 25.

Tickets for the Sept. 1 conversation and performance will go on sale this Friday to American Express members who have access to Amex presale tickets, beginning Friday at 10:30 a.m. PT. Artifacts promised for the initial display include Rodrigo’s nurse costume from the “Cure” music video, props like the felt beating heart and miniature OR, and — apart from the video — hand-stitched artwork used in the packaging for her recent album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.”

“I grew up going to the Grammy Museum,” said Rodrigo in a statement, “and their mission is especially important to me, so it’s a full circle moment to be able to work with them on this exhibit. It’s the perfect place to feature ‘The Cure’ music video pieces that mean so much to me, as well as some incredibly special items from the past decade that we’re later adding that I’ve never shown before. I can’t wait for you all to see them in person.”

“You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love” has been one of the year’s best-reviewed major releases. (Variety‘s review began: “The third time’s the third charm for Rodrigo, who is beginning to look like she might be constitutionally incapable of not turning in one of the year’s most diverting albums, in any given try. Not many artists have started off with as smashing a three-peat as Rodrigo…”) It is expected to garner multiple nominations in the 2027 Grammy race, for which this Friday marks the end of the current eligibility period.
