Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalized in New York City after she fell ill during a performance of โMoulin Rouge! The Musicalโ on Broadway and was forced to exit mid-show.
โDuring Tuesday nightโs production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated,โ her rep told Variety. โWe will share additional updates as more information becomes available.โ
Back in February, it was unveiled that the Grammy winner was set to make her Broadway debut in โMoulin Rouge! The Musicalโ as nightclub impresario Harold Zidler, a part originated by Tony winner Danny Burstein. What was planned as an eight-week engagement at the Al Hirshfeld Theatre began on March 24 and was set to end on May 17. It is unclear how the show will continue in Megan Thee Stallionโs absence.

After 7 years on Broadway, โMoulin Rouge! The Musicalโ will close on July 26. By then, it will have played 2,265 regular performances and 24 previews, making it the 36th longest-running show in Broadway history. Producers gave no reason as to why it was closing. The show has remained very popular throughout its seven-year run. However, โMoulin Rouge! The Musicalโ carries hefty production costs due to the music rights and the elaborate set.
