Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ Tops IMDb Most Anticipated Indian Films List

IMDb has revealed its most anticipated Indian films of 2026, with Shah Rukh Khan‘s action thriller “King” claiming the top spot based on global user engagement from the platform’s worldwide audience.

The rankings, determined by actual page views from more than 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb, reflect growing international interest in India’s diverse film output. The list spans 20 titles across five languages, with 10 Hindi-language films leading the pack, followed by five Telugu productions, three Tamil titles, and one each in the Malayalam and Kannada languages.

“King” reunites Khan with his “Pathaan” director Siddharth Anand, marking the superstar’s first theatrical release in nearly three years. The film’s top ranking signals strong fan anticipation for Khan’s big-screen return.

Following “King” in the rankings are Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic “Ramayana Part 1,” starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash; H. Vinoth’s Tamil political drama “Jana Nayagan,” which is supposed to be actor-turned-politician Vijay’s last acting role; Prabhas-starrer “Spirit,” directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga; and Geetu Mohandas’ “Toxic,” featuring Yash.

Several major stars appear in multiple films on the list. Nayanthara features in both “Toxic” and “Patriot,” which is headlined by Malayalam cinema superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal, while Yash appears in “Ramayana Part 1” and “Toxic.” Sunny Deol stars in “Ramayana Part 1” and “Border 2,” and Prabhas leads “Spirit” and “Fauzi.” Ranbir Kapoor appears in “Ramayana Part 1” and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Love & War,” which also stars Alia Bhatt. Bhatt additionally features in “Alpha,” part of the Yash Raj Films Spy Universe. Triptii Dimri rounds out the multi-film stars with roles in “Spirit” and “O Romeo.”

The lineup also includes sequel “Dhurandhar 2,” alongside franchise expansions such as “Alpha” (YRF Spy Universe), “Benz” (Lokesh Cinematic Universe), and “Shakti Shalini” (Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe).

Rounding out the top 20 are Salman Khan’s “Battle of Galwan,” Pradeep Ranganathan’s “LIK: Love Insurance Kompany,” Nani’s “The Paradise,” Ram Charan’s “Peddi,” NTR Jr’s “Dragon” and Akshay Kumar’s “Bhooth Bangla.”
