A Miss Universe contestant is recovering after suffering a major fall during the pageant.

In a shocking moment during the preliminary evening gown round on Nov. 19, Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry took a massive fall off the stage.

In video shared by Meekii Modez on Instagram, Henry is seen walking across the stage in a stunning orange gown with high heels. After posing at the front, she continues to walk towards the left of the stage when she takes the tumble.

People are seen standing up in shock to make sure she is OK.

Additional video online shows a group of people coming to her aid and removing her on a stretcher.

Hours later, the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization released a statement offering an update on Henry. The organization confirmed that she โ€œexperienced a fall from the main stage during the evening gown roundโ€ ahead of the Miss Universe finals this weekend in Thailand.

โ€œShe was rushed to the Paolo Rangsit Hospital, where medical professionals are attending to her care and have advised that she is not suffering from any life-threatening injuries,โ€ the statement posted on Instagram reads. โ€œHowever, they continue to conduct tests to ensure her full recovery.โ€

The organization asked for people to โ€œstay upbeat, lift her in prayer, and send positive thoughts as she receives the necessary medical care.โ€ It also thanked people for the outpouring of love and support.

Prior to the accident, Henry had participated in the national costume and swimsuit portion of the pageant.

Miss Universe Organization President Raรบl Rocha also shared an update on his Instagram, writing that he left the hospital where Henry is being treated.

โ€œI was there with her family and her, and thankfully, there are no broken bones and she is under good care,โ€ he wrote in part.

The 74th Miss Universe competition kicked off with the sashing ceremony on Nov. 5.

The pageant got off to a rocky start after Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch spoke out following an argument with pageant executive Nawat Itsaragrisil, who criticized and singled her out at an official event. The Thai businessman and national director of Miss Universe Thailand would go on to apologize to Bosch after Rocha also condemned his behavior.
