Sophie Turner might want to think twice the next time she waves at someone from across the room.
On “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” the “Games of Thrones” star said there was once a time when she accidentally caused some friction in a celebrity couple’s relationship.
Turner explained that the incident happened at a San Diego Comic Con after party that Meyers attended as well. The late night host recalled the party taking place around 10 years ago when “Games of Thrones” was just taking off.
Myers said he left the party early and didn’t exactly see what happened. But, Turner was quick to bring him up to speed.
“That night was actually quite crazy for me. It went really south, really quick,” she explained.
“So, I brought my best friend from my school days with me and she saw this actor that she loved. And she obviously just goes to me like, ‘Can you say hi?'” Turner recalled.
However, since Turner wasn’t familiar with the actor, she said that she just waved at him “and that was it.”
“Then later on, I see this girl looking at me, and she’s a famous actress, and I was like, I have to go and tell her how much she means to me. So I dance on over and she goes, ‘Can you stop f—ing flirting with my fiancรฉ?” Turner said, recalling the woman’s reaction.
After asking the girl who her fiancรฉ was, Turner said she was shocked when the girl pointed at the actor whom she had previously waved to.
“I have no idea who this man is, and then turns out, I think they like broke their engagement off that night because of my (wave),” she said.
“Oh, my God,” Meyers said after hearing the story.
“I didn’t realize I held this power,” Turner quipped, before adding that the woman probably thought she was “rubbing it in” by coming over to greet her.
Meanwhile, Turner already has a very special man in her life.
The “X-Men” star is in a relationship with boyfriend Peregrine Pearson. They couple made their first public appearance in February 2024, and Turner occasionally posts photos of him on social media.
In October, the actor shared a series of photos on Instagram, showing fans a rare glimpse into her relationship, which for the most part, she has keep under the radar.
In the post, which celebrated her beau’s birthday, she included pictures of the couple on various trips throughout their relationship. She captioned the sweet post, โHappy Birthday my angel pie. 30, flirty and thriving.โ
Turner’s new relationship comes after she was previously married to Joe Jonas. After four years of marriage, the “Cake by the Ocean” singer filed for divorce from Turner in 2023. The pair share their two daughters, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2, together.
