Taylor Swift Supports ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ With Subtle Nod to Travis Kelce’s Cameo

“Happy Gilmore 2” has the official Taylor Swift stamp of approval.

Swift shared a glowing review of the “Happy Gilmore” sequel to her Instagram story July 25. The “Cruel Summer” posted the movie’s poster alongside a short message about the film, which included an appearance from her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

“Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie!” Swift wrote on the post. “An absolute must watch, 13/10, go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanly possible. 🍯”

The honey pot emoji at the end of Swift’s post appeared to be a subtle nod to Kelce’s role in the movie.

“Happy Gilmore 2” was chock-full of celebrities, including Bad Bunny, Post Malone, Eminem, Margaret Qualley, Ken Jennings, Haley Joel Osment and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

In the sequel, Kelce portrays a waiter at a restaurant where Adam Sandler’s character, Happy Gilmore, is dining. Happy overhears Kelce’s character unfairly scold and fire a busboy named Oscar, played by Bad Bunny.

Happy later ends up hiring Oscar as his caddy after he forgets to bring one with him to the tour championship. At one point during a match, Happy suggests that Oscar go to his “happy place,” which includes Kelce’s character tied to a light post. Oscar then slathers his naked chest in honey straight from a pot before leaving the waiter to be attacked by a bear.

After “Happy Gilmore 2” hit Netflix July 25, Kelce shared a post on social media to celebrate the premiere with a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the set, including snaps with both Sandler and Bad Bunny.

“Man this life is crazy!! Still so surreal I got this opportunity,” Kelce wrote in the caption. “@adamsandler SANDMAN!! Thank you brotha, for the opportunity and for giving us all Happy Gilmore 2! Everybody go check it out right now!”

The Chiefs tight end wasn’t the only member of the Kelce family to appear in “Happy Gilmore 2,” either.

Sandler appeared as a guest on a recent episode of Kelce’s podcast “New Heights.” During the episode, Kelce revealed that his dad, Ed, also made an appearance in the movie.

“Your dad was smooth as hell,” Sandler said. “I was telling you guys he’s in loads of shots. I think it’s when you cut to either me or Lee Trevino, you see Ed and he’s always right in the shot looking cool as hell, looking like a proud member of the gold jacket club. I don’t know what year your father in the movie won the gold jacket, but he wore it proudly and he was cool as hell.”

The NFL star has been active on social media amid the release of his latest onscreen endeavor. On July 24, he posted a carousel of photos with Swift, which marked the first time he’s shared photos of his girlfriend on Instagram.

In addition to the pictures of Swift and Kelce together, eagle-eyed fans also noticed that they both seemingly had photos of each other as their lock screens.
