Venus Williams has scored a love match and it’s off the court.

On July 22, following her first singles match in more than a year, Williams revealed that she is engaged to actor and former model Andre Preti.

While speaking to WTA following her DC Open singles match, the tennis star, who sported a diamond ring on her left finger, called Preti her fiancé.

“My fiancé is here and he really encouraged me to keep playing,” she explained, noting it was the first time Preti had seen her play.

Venus Confirmed Her Engagement to Preti in July 2024

On July 22, the tennis star confirmed her engagement to the actor after her Mubadala Citi DC Open singles match.

“My fiancé is here and he really encouraged me to keep playing,” Williams said during an interview with WTA after her match in which she spoke about his support of her and the sport.

“There were so many times where I just wanted to coast and kind of chill,” she said during the interview. “Do you know how hard it is to play tennis? You guys don’t know how much work goes into this, like it’s 9 to 5 except you’re running the whole time, lifting weights and just like dying and then you repeat it the next day.”
