Who is Penn Badgley’s Wife? All About Domino Kirke

Many of Penn Badgleyโ€™s fans first fell for him when he gained fame on โ€œGossip Girl,โ€ but not the woman who counts herself as his biggest fan today.

Badgleyโ€™s wife, Domino Kirke, had never even heard of him when they met two years after his six-season stint as Dan Humphrey was over โ€” and several years before he became the lead in Netflixโ€™s psychological thriller โ€œYou.โ€

While she wasnโ€™t starstruck by the actor, she was charmed by him. Or, as he summed it up during an episode of his โ€œPodcrushedโ€ podcast, she โ€œwanted to get with me from Day 1.โ€

Read on to learn all about the Kirke, 41, who fell for him back in 2014 and now shares a growing family with the star.

Her early days and famous family

Domino Suzy Kirke was born in London to mother Lorraine Kirke, who launched New York Cityโ€™s once-famed and now-defunct Geminola boutique, and father Simon Kirke, drummer and co-founder of British supergroup Bad Company.

She has four siblings, including actor-singer Lola Kirke and artist-actor Jemima Kirke, who starred in “Girls.”

Sheโ€™s a singer

Following in her dadโ€™s musical footsteps, Kirke is a singer who once fronted the eponymous band Domino.

Sheโ€™s released several EPs, as well as two full-length studio albums, โ€œAdults Onlyโ€ (2010) and โ€œBeyond Wavesโ€ (2017).

Her other passion is being a doula and birthing advocate

Kirkeโ€™s labor of love is her other profession, that of doula and assisted birthing advocate. Itโ€™s a role she took on after experiencing a traumatic delivery with the birth of her first child, son Cassius, whom she shares with her ex, musician Morgan Oโ€™Kane.

โ€œI came out of it feeling like I wanted to give back to people that didnโ€™t have support,โ€ she explained in an interview with Spin.

โ€œBut back in 2008, 2009, doulas were not abundant the way they are now. My doula work was born out of this void of care in my life. At the time, I didnโ€™t have a lot of women in my life. I was surrounded by men. I think that was also the music world, so male-dominated. I became trained as a doula six months after I gave birth, and I started taking clients. It happened seamlessly,” she said.

Sheโ€™s the co-founder of Carriage House Birth and the doula support group The Space and Time Mentorship.ย

How she met Penn Badgley

Badgley and Kirke met in early 2014, thanks to a mutual friend who invited both to go out for drinks without telling either of them anyone else would be there.

โ€œIt was nice to meet him, but I was really there to see her,โ€ Kirke recalled during a 2022 visit to โ€œPodcrushed.โ€ โ€œI didnโ€™t know he was going to be there, so, at first, I was a little annoyed.โ€

Soon, however, she found herself enjoying the company of the man she called โ€œa third wheel,โ€ so much so that, after finding out he was couch surfing with friends, she offered to rent him her spare room.

He didnโ€™t accept the offer. He was, however, attracted to her from the very beginning.

โ€œFrom the first moment I heard Dominoโ€™s name, to be honest, I was enchanted,โ€ he said in that same episode of the podcast. โ€œI even said the words, โ€˜I feel like I could fall in love with that person.โ€™โ€

Weeks later, they started dating. And on one of those early dates, Kirke, as a single mom of a toddler at the time, was sharing a snack with her child when she and Badgley shared an early milestone moment. ย ย

As she said, โ€œWhen we did finally kissed, it was with a mouthful of baby carrots.โ€

In a post for Badgley’s birthday in 2024, Kirke wrote a tribute to him which said, in part, “I have no words for what weโ€™re doing in this life together. Iโ€™ve never had it before; Iโ€™ve barely seen it before! Thank you for hanging in as a 3lb premature baby and staying alive so we could meet … you are so loved.”

Saying โ€˜I doโ€™

After three years together, Badgley and Kirke got married โ€” twice!

On Feb. 27, 2017, the pair swapped vows in a small courthouse ceremony in Brooklyn, before having a big do-over with all their friends and family in June of the same year.

Sheโ€™s a mom of 2 โ€” and counting

In addition to her son Cassius, born in 2009, Kirke also shares a son with Badgley.

James was born in August of 2020, but his happy arrival came after difficult losses for the couple.

โ€œAfter two miscarriages in a row, we were ready to call it,โ€ Kirke wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post announcing her pregnancy with James. โ€œI stopped trusting my body and started to accept the fact that I was done.โ€

But she wasnโ€™t done โ€” not even after James. ย

The 41-year-old is currently pregnant again, this time with twins.

โ€œBabies #3 and #4 coming this Summer!โ€ she captioned a February 2025 Instagram post revealing her baby bump. โ€œTalk about a PLOT TWIST! Spontaneous twins are beyond magical. We are stunned. We are in awe.โ€
