Prime Video’s hit teen drama, based on Jenny Han’s bestselling YA trilogy “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” returns for Season 3 on July 16.
While this summer marks the final chapter of the beloved series, it’s expected to be packed with all the nostalgia, love-triangle tension and Taylor Swift needle drops fans have come to love.
Set in the fictional beach town of Cousins, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” follows Belly Conklin (Lola Tung), whose summers are defined by friendship, family and increasingly complicated romantic entanglements with the Fisher brothers, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).
In Season 2, the love triangle reached its breaking point. Belly made a decision — but not without heartbreak and plenty left unsaid between the trio.
Now, Season 3 jumps several years ahead. In the official trailer, Belly is in college, newly engaged to Jeremiah and ready to start a new chapter. But when Conrad re-enters her life, the past comes rushing back. And summer gets complicated … again.

Is Season 3 Really the Final Season?
The short answer? Yes.
According to Prime Video, Season 3 will serve as the show’s last.
That said, creator Jenny Han hasn’t fully closed the door.
“Never say never — I never do,” Han previously told Entertainment Weekly. “If I had a really great idea that I was excited by, and if (the stars) were excited to do it, then I would be so pumped.’”
Lola Tung echoed the sentiment, saying she’d happily return.
“I love working with this group of people and I love working with Jenny. I think it’s such a privilege to be any part of her cinematic universe, so if I was ever asked, I’m there,” Tung said.
So while Belly’s story will wrap up for now, it’s not a hard goodbye.
