Tom Sandoval is back on television for another reality competition show, this time on “America’s Got Talent.”
Less than a year after he appeared on Season 3 of “The Traitors,” Sandoval brought his band, Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras, to the “AGT” stage during Season 20 of the series.
In a preview clip shared on the official “AGT” Instagram account June 20, Sandoval donned an emerald green sparkly blazer and baggy black pants as he and his band dove into a cover of A-ha’s 1985 hit “Take On Me.”
“The infamous Tom Sandoval steps back into the spotlight on the AGT stage,” the caption on the post read.
In another preview clip shared for the upcoming June 24 episode, the reality TV star introduced himself, sharing, “I’m Tom Sandoval. I was the most hated man in America.”
“This is my chance to show who I am as a musician,” he added in a voiceover.
There were mixed reactions to Sandoval’s performance in the comment section on Instagram.
“I don’t want to like him, but I have to say the band is awesome and he sounds really good,” one comment read. “They’re very entertaining.”
Another comment added, “Gotta admit that he sounds pretty good. And he chose a great song for the crowd.”
Not all viewers shared the same sentiment, with several Instagram users sharing snide GIFs, including of Sandoval’s ex-girlfriend Ariana Madix, in the comments.
“It’s a cover band you can find any Friday night at your townie pub,” one commenter added.
Sandoval, who starred on “Vanderpump Rules” for 11 seasons, was at the center of a public scandal in March 2023 — dubbed “Scandoval” — when he cheated on his longtime partner, Madix.
After nine years of dating, Sandoval had an affair with Madix’s friend and fellow “Vanderpump Rules” co-star, Rachel Leviss, who went by Raquel at the time.
The former couple announced their split in March 2023, with Sandoval admitting to the affair on social media.
The aftermath of the affair and their subsequent split was on display in the Season 10 finale of “Vanderpump Rules” after Madix found “found sexually explicit videos of Leviss” on Sandoval’s phone when it fell out of his pocket at his concert. Season 11, which marked the final season of “Vanderpump Rules” with the current cast, followed the group of friends in the wake of Sandoval’s affair.
Sandoval also appeared on Season 2 of Fox’s “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,” which premiered in September 2023 and Season 3 of “The Traitors,” which debuted in January.
“AGT” returned to NBC on May 27 for Season 20, bringing back Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, Howie Mandel and Mel B as judges, as well as host Terry Crews.
The new season has already made waves, including Air Force veteran Benjamin Hightower’s rendition of Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club,” which earned him a “yes” from each judge. Crews also doled out a Golden Buzzer to The Funkateer Dancers.
