
New “Harry Potter” audiobooks are on the way, and they sound pretty magical.
On Aug. 5, Pottermore Publishing and Audible, Inc. announced that fans of the Wizarding World can look forward to brand-new productions of the original seven books starting later this year.
“Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions” will feature a cast of over 200 performers who will bring the iconic series to life in an exciting new way.
Here’s everything you need to know about the new audiobooks before they’re released.
When Do the Full-Cast ‘Harry Potter’ Audiobooks Come Out?
The audiobook for “Harry Potter and the Sorcererโs Stone,” the first book in the series, will be released on Nov. 4, 2025.
The remaining six audiobooks will then drop monthly afterwards in the following schedule:
- “Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets” on Dec. 16, 2025
- “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” on Jan. 13, 2026
- “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” on Feb. 10, 2026
- “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” on March 10, 2026
- “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” on April 14, 2026
- “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” on May 12, 2026
Fans can look forward to a larger-than-life listening experience with โimmersive audio entertainmentโ and โhigh-quality sound design in Dolby Atmos,โ per a press release.
Other notable features include original music and real-world sound capture.
Who Is in the Cast of the New ‘Harry Potter’ Audiobooks?
Pottermore Publishing and Audible, Inc. promise โthe most ambitious audiobook cast ever assembled,โ featuring over 200 actors. The cast includes:
- Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore
- Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort
- Riz Ahmed as Professor Snape
- Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall
- Cush Jumbo as the narrator
In the first three audiobooks, Frankie Treadaway will voice Harry Potter, Max Lester will voice Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton will voice Hermione Granger.
For audiobooks four to seven, Jaxon Knopf is Harry Potter, Rhys Mulligan is Ron Weasley and Nina Barker-Francis is Hermione Granger.
Additional cast members will be announced this fall.
Where To Listen to ‘Harry Potter’ Audiobooks Now
If you can’t wait for the new audiobooks to be released, there are already existing “Harry Potter” audiobooks. The single-voice recordings star Jim Dale and Stephen Fry, versus a more robust cast, and launched on Audible in 2015.
After the new audiobooks are released, the original versions will still be available as “classic editions.”
