A quartet of rising actors will come together for the upcoming series of Beatles movies. Sony has revealed which actors will play the Fab Four in the upcoming four-film series about the legendary band.
Harris Dickinson will star as John Lennon, Paul Mescal will portray Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan will play Ringo Starr and Joseph Quinn will appear as George Harrison.
Sony posted a photo of the actors on its Instagram. The picture was also shared by The Beatles’, Lennon’s and Harrison’s Instagram accounts.
Dickinson, who is playing John Lennon, has starred in “The Iron Claw” and “Babygirl.”
Keoghan, who has appeared in “Saltburn” and “Dunkirk,” also garnered an Oscar nomination for “The Banshees of Inishirin.”
Mescal earned an Academy Award nomination for “Aftersun,” while also starring in “Gladiator II” and the Sally Rooney adaptation “Normal People.”
Quinn starred alongside Mescal in “Gladiator II,” appeared in “A Quiet Place: Day One” and had a recurring role on “Stranger Things” during the show’s fourth season.
What is dubbed “The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event,” will be directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes. But it not exactly coming soon to a theater near you, mainly because they movies are not expected to be released until 2028.
Sony announced in February 2024 that it was planning four separate movies, with each film telling the band’s story from a different member’s point of view.
Lennon died in 1980, while Harrison died in 2001. At the time the film project was announced last year, Starr revealed the group was behind it.
“Have you heard the news? Oh boy. We all support the Sam Mendes movie project. Yes, indeed. peace and love,” he wrote on X, alongside a photo of the band.
