“Love on the Spectrum” star Madison Marilla received a special surprise when she got to meet country music singer Zac Brown during his TODAY Citi Concert Series performance on July 25.
An avid country fan, Marilla told Al Roker on TODAY that she traveled from Tampa, Florida with her family to see the Zac Brown Band concert on the TODAY Plaza.
After the group performed a few of their hits, Brown brought Marilla up on stage to say a special hello.
“I’m a huge fan. I’ve always wanted to see you in concert,” Marilla told Brown on stage. “‘Chicken Fried’ and ‘Toes’ are my favorite.”
Brown told Marilla he would love for her to attend one of her concerts. Then, Marilla took the mic and began to sing “Chicken Fried” for the audience and was met with cheers.
“I wish Tyler was here,” Marilla said after singing the song.
Marilla met her boyfriend Tyler White on “Love on the Spectrum.” The reality series follows adults across the autism spectrum as they search for love.
On the show, Marilla and White bonded over their love for country music. Marilla told Brown she and White spoke about his songs on their first date.
While he couldn’t be there to see singer in person, after the concert, White, who is a musician himself, FaceTimed with Brown to say hello.
“You’ve got an amazing ear for music,” Bryan told White over FaceTime. “It’s amazing how much you know about music. I was really impressed on the show.”
Brown, who recently announced his engagement to jewelry designer Kendra Scott, also chatted with Marilla about her love for making jewelry.
Marilla also met Scott after the concert and gave her a bracelet. She told TODAY.com what the moment means for her.
“It was fun meeting a famous jewelry designer,” Marilla said. “My dream is to own my own store one day.”
