Scheana Shay reveals in her upcoming memoir, “My Good Side,” that her husband, Brock Davies, cheated on her when she was pregnant with the couple’s daughter, Summer Moon, now 4.
The former “Vanderpump Rules” star, 40, said Davies admitted to the adultery in 2023 after news broke of “Scandoval,” the infamous cheating scandal in which “Vanderpump Rules” stars Tom Sandoval and Rachel Leviss conducted an affair behind Sandoval’s girlfriend Ariana Madix’s back.
Shay wrote that one night she “sat down to watch the latest episode of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,'” according to an excerpt from her book published July 10 by Glamour.
“Right before I pressed play, Brock told me to put down the remote because he needed to talk to me about something important,” wrote Shay. “I thought he was joking at first. But then I noticed his face was serious, and my heart began beating against my chest. What else could possibly go wrong?”
As Shay’s body “froze,” her husband told her “he’d cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, while I was pregnant with Summer,” she wrote.
Shay recalled that she felt “completely sick to my stomach” as Davies explained to her that, at the time of his affair, “he was scared about being a father again” and that he “chose to deal with it by sleeping with someone else.”
Davies’ confession, wrote Shay, “shattered” her world “into pieces.”
“There was this deep fury bubbling inside of me, and I couldn’t release it. If I screamed, I could wake up my daughter. Our daughter. His baby, whom I’d been carrying while he was in bed with another woman,” she wrote.
“I stood up and started pacing back and forth, fuming, and feeling like I might throw up,” she added.
A moment later, she slapped Davies across the face before throwing a Rubik’s cube at him, “which he dodged.”
Davies told Shay that the woman he’d cheated with was someone he knew before they got together.
That same night, Davies, who has two other children from a previous relationship, presented Shay with a letter he’d written to her in 2022, a year before his confession. The letter included details of his affair, including how many times he and his mistress slept together and where.
“He also pointed out that it was purely physical, never emotional, and he always used protection. Gee, thanks!” wrote Shay.
Davies explained to Shay that he wrote the letter after “he realized he was throwing his second chance at a family away by stepping out.”
“Once I’d read it, that was more than enough,” Shay wrote. “I told him to immediately toss it into the fire. I never wanted to set eyes on those words again.”
Shay and Davies began dating in 2019 and announced their engagement in July 2021 after welcoming Summer Moon that April, reported People. They tied the knot in August 2022.
“My Good Side,” out July 22, details Shay’s rise to reality TV stardom and includes details about her 2006 affair with actor Eddie Cibrian, who was married at the time to “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Brandi Glanville, according to a separate excerpt from the book published by Entertainment Weekly.
