Resident Culture announces the permanent closure of its South End taproom in Charlotte, expressing gratitude to the community.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. โ€” Resident Culture, a well-known brewery in Charlotte’s South End neighborhood, has permanently closed its doors at the South End taproom, the company announced on Instagram.

The brewery posted a message on social media thanking the community for its support, though the post did not specify the reasons behind the closure decision.

“Weโ€™re endlessly thankful to everyone who showed up, supported us, danced, dined, and raised a glass with us,” the brewery said in the Instagram post. “You made this place more than a location โ€” you made it an unforgettable memory.”

The closure adds to a growing list of brewery shutdowns that have occurred in the Charlotte area in recent years, reflecting broader challenges facing the craft beer industry.

However, beer enthusiasts can still visit Resident Culture’s Plaza Midwood location, which remains open and operational.

The South End location had been a fixture in the rapidly developing neighborhood, which has seen significant growth and change in recent years with new residential and commercial developments.
