Rebel Wilson didn’t have to look far when they needed someone to fill a small role in her new comedy action film, “Bride Hard.”
Wilson’s wife, fashion designer Ramona Agruma, makes her big-screen debut with a cameo in the upcoming movie, where Wilson plays a secret agent who is also the maid of honor at her friend’s wedding.
Wilson wasn’t the first one who wanted to get Agruma on screen, as the “Real Housewives” franchise made an entreaty to her before her small role in “Bride Hard,” which hits theaters on June 20.
“She was actually offered, but she has no desire to be in the spotlight,” Wilson told Savannah Guthrie on June 16 on TODAY.
“But weirdly she has a cameo in ‘Bride Hard’ because they needed somebody to speak Russian to play a Russian scientist,” she continued. “And so Ramona’s like, ‘Yeah, all right.’ She just stepped in. She’s not an actress, but she just came in and crushed it. I was like, ‘Babe, you’re actually good.’”
Agruma was raised in Latvia and speaks multiple languages, including German and Russian.
In addition to her wife’s cameo, Wilson survived a wild moment during the filming of an action scene in the movie. She said she had her “nose slashed open” on the last night of shooting and had to get plastic surgery.
“It was hardcore,” she said.
The couple tied the knot in September 2024 at a ceremony in Sardinia, Italy. Agruma, who’s the founder of the Los Angeles-based clothing brand Lemon Ve Limon, had been dating Wilson for two years. The two announced their engagement in February 2023.
They also are parents of Wilson’s daughter, Royce Lillian Elizabeth Wilson, who was born via surrogate on Nov. 7, 2023.
