The winner of the Pedro Pascal look-alike contest has closer ties to Hollywood than expected.
Celebrity look-alike contests have become a viral celebration with people coming together in cities all over the world to see who looks the most like stars TimothΓ©e Chalamet, Glen Powell, Jason Kelce, Jeremy Allen White and many more.
In the latest viral contest, mustached men took over Manhattan’s Lower East Side to find “The Last of Us” star’s doppelgΓ€nger.
The winner, known as Pedro Pascal No. 5, is Brooklyn dad George Gountas. He won over the crowd with his black-rimmed spectacles and cut-off black tank top, resembling Pascalβs memorable Cannes Film Festival look.
Gountas went home with a $50 cash prize and a yearβs worth of burritos β and then he went to work, which happens to be at βThe Daily Show.β

While filming the June 17 episode of the Comedy Central show, host Jon Stewart welcomed Gountas, βThe Daily Showβs own lighting director, to the table to talk about his experience. While there, Gountas also sent Pascal, 50, a message.
Taking the stage, Gountas recalled one of their stage managers telling him he should go and try to win the contest. On the day of the event, a stylist neighbor helped him get his look together.
Gountas said that he was supposed to have signed up to participate before arriving, but didnβt.
βI rolled up and Iβm like, βYo, Iβm here,ββ Gountas said. βAnd theyβre like, βYouβre gonna win.ββ
A stunned Stewart called it βcrazy,β telling Gountas, whoβs in his early-40s, that heβs a βsexier, younger Pedro Pascal.β
When Stewart asked Gountas what his wife thought of all his newfound fame, he replied that she is OK with it but has one condition.
βHer position is, βIβm cool with you getting all this attention if I can meet Pedro Pascal,ββ Gountas said, before delivering his message to the βMaterialistsβ star.
βHey Pedro. This is Pedro No. 5 from New York. It would be a great, great, great,β he began, bursting into laughter, βgift if you could meet my wife, Jenny.β
βIt would mean the world to her,β he continued. βWe need to make this happen.β
Stewart then quipped, βI donβt see how Pedro No. 1 could turn down Pedro No. 5.β
Looks like the ball’s in Pascalβs corner now.
