“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Mikayla Matthews is receiving a lot of backlash online for attempting a social media challenge.
On August 1, the reality TV star shared a video of herself doing the Nicki Minaj stiletto challenge while she held her newborn baby in her arms.
The challenge, which was inspired by a famous pose that Minaj did in her 2013 music video “High School,” features people recreating her pose while they wear stiletto shoes and balance themselves on top of a stack of random objects.
When Matthews did the challenge, she blindfolded herself and held some diapers in one hand and her baby in the other. The mom of four was also wearing a pair of black heels while she steadied herself atop a white step stool.
Over the video she wrote, “How it feels balancing postpartum + 4 kids and being the breadwinner๐โจ.”
She captioned the post, “2 weeks postpartum yesterday and we are a whole new level of TIRED lol๐ ๐.”

While Matthews received a lot of praise from her โMormon Wivesโ co-stars, including Jessi Ngatikaura and Taylor Frankie Paul, she also received some backlash for attempting the move with her daughter in her arms.
“Why does everyone think this is OKโฆ if she fell her newborn would be seriously hurt.. bizarre behaviour just for the clicks,” one person commented on the video.
Another said, “Girl this ainโt it. Donโt put your newborn baby in a position to get hurt privately, or socially.”
“The juice ainโt worth the squeeze with this one,” a third added.
“We wouldโve gotten the point without the baby. Itโs just dangerous and some things are not worth putting a newborn in danger over some likes. ๐ซค,” someone else chimed in.
However, not everyone felt this way. Some of Matthews’ fans were impressed by her skills.

“I just had a baby… Could not do this… Your balance is impressive ๐,” someone wrote.
Another said, “Go head sis. I didnโt even realize it was you at first. Iโm impressed.”
In a July interview with TODAY.com, TODAY fitness contributor Stephanie Mansour weighed in on the challenge and said it can be unsafe if the proper precautions are not taken.
โI never recommend working out in heels or balancing on one foot in heels, unless wearing them is part of the artistic nature of a workout,โ Mansour said.
Balancing on unstable objects is risky, she adds. If the proper precautions are not taken, this challenge could be โvery dangerous.โ
โI hate to be the bearer of bad news over a fun TikTok trend,โ Mansour said, โbut I really donโt recommend that anyone seriously try this.โ
