Mariah Carey seems to have missed the memo that Katy Perry recently traveled to space. But now that she knows, the music icon has some thoughts on the matter.
During a new interview with BBC radio host Scott Mills, Carey discovered that Perry was part of Blue Origin’s all-female crew that went to space in April.
The topic came up when Mills posed the following question to Carey, as seen in an Aug. 7 clip: “Would you fancy going to space? You know that Katy Perry did.”
“Did she go to space?” the “Obsessed” singer asked then inquired where in space Perry went.
“Just into orbit and back,” someone in the background replied.
“Into orbit and back?” Carey said in wonder.
The 56-year-old then imagined what Perry might have done on her short trip into outer space.
โSheโs like floating in the … ,โ she said.
โYeah,โ Mills replied.
Still, Carey wasn’t fully convinced and had to make sure one last time.
“And this is true?” she asked.
“This, I’ve not made this up. This is true,” Mills told the singer.
Thoroughly reassured, Carey said, “Wow! Alright, Katy.”
“She was proper in space,” Mills said.
“I’m not mad at her. That’s pretty amazing,” she said.

Perry was one of six women who reached the edge of space and entered orbit during the highly anticipated trip that created buzz and sparked criticism.
Mills said during his interview with Carey that Perry “hasn’t stopped talking about it since but it happened.”
The host then asked Carey if she’d ever consider going to space.
“I think I’ve done enough,” the star said and laughed.
“Yeah, OK fair,” he replied.
Carey’s direct and dry response left Instagram users in stitches when the BBC posted the video.
“I love that Mariah just lives in her own bubble! What a queen โค๏ธ,” one commented.
Another wrote, “I honestly wish I was as oblivious to that whole thing as our Mariah clearly is.”
One social media user called Carey “a whole vibe” and another said she “lives on Planet Mariah.”
Many Instagram users gleefully repeated the phrase โI think Iโve done enoughโ in the comments section, with one writing, โAnd this will now be my new phrase at work.โ
Another commented, โThat will now by my official response to pretty much everything from now on, โIโve done enough.โโ
The comedic moment quickly turned into meme fodder online, like one meme shared by writer Evan Ross Katz that broke down the conversation in six snippets.
While responding to the meme, an Instagram user called Carey a “Queen of one-liners” and another described the moment as “iconic.”
