One Carnival Cruise has a new singing celebrity on board: College student Tyler Heyworth, whose charm and vocal chops left shocked boat passengers on their feet.
While aboard a Carnival Cruise en route to Cozumel, Mexico, Heyworth found himself on stage at a karaoke event in front of a small crowd of strangers. Microphone in hand, the Georgia native surprised the crowd with a lively rendition of Keith Sweat’s 1996 hit, โNobody.โ
As Heyworth kicked off the ballad, one viral TikTok video captured dozens of cruise guests erupting with laughter and applause. The supportive crowd sang along with Heyworth throughout the entire song and gave the performance a standing ovation once the chorus came to a close.
Several onlookers were quick to post the karaoke performance on TikTok, where the video quickly amassed over one million views.
In an interview with TODAY.com, Heyworth reveals that his penchant for โ90s karaoke occurs only on cruises.
โYou may think I look pretty confident up there, but normally I wouldn’t do that around where I live because Iโm too nervous,โ Heyworth says. โOn cruises, the way I think about it is like, โOh, Iโm never going to see these people again. Why donโt I have a little fun?โโ
Fans of Heyworth’s song choice made their opinions clear in person and in the comment section.
โI want to book a Carnival Cruise, but only if Tyler is there singing this song,โ one commenter wrote on the video.
โIf tyler ainโt on the cruise I ainโt goin,โ another user said.
Heyworth admits that a trial run performance occurred the night before, where he sang to a small group of vacationers. The following evening, Heyworth’s dad gave him the confidence he needed to croon to a larger crowd.
โMy dad looked at me and said, โthereโs a bigger crowd out here tonight. Iโll give you 10 bucks if you do the same song again,โโ Heyworth recalls. Ultimately, the money was the motivation, and the resulting video is now viral TikTok gold.

Along with โNobody,โ Heyworth was also seen belting out Usher’s โNice & Slowโ and โLet Me Love Youโ by Mario, complete with a cameo from his brother Timmy.
Heyworth notes that while his go-to genre is โ90s R&B, he doesnโt have a tried-and-true karaoke tune.
โโNobodyโ isn’t my go-to song, but it was a song I had really enjoyed one summer,โ he says. โI saw it on the set list, and I was like, โYou know what, why not?โโ
Even Carnival Cruise decided to join in on the fun with their own TikTok of โThe Tyler Show,โ with the words โSOLD OUTโ written underneath.
Despite not having any future cruise performances lined up, Heyworth plans to continue singing when he can, especially in the car.
โIโm definitely gonna keep doing karaoke,โ he says.
As for that $10 bet? Heyworth’s dad made good on his promise.
