Maluma offered one fan some tough love when he spotted her with a toddler in the crowd at one of his recent shows.
The 31-year-old rapper and singer is currently on his “+Pretty +Dirty World Tour” and recently made a stop in Mexico City. While performing on stage, Maluma noticed that he had a young fan in the audience, and he wasn’t pleased.
In multiple videos shared on social media from the concert, which was held at Palacio de los Deportes arena, Maluma appears to briefly pause the show to call out a fan with a 1-year-old child.
“Ma’am, I’m going to tell you something. Leave him there. Don’t bring him,” he repeatedly advises the fan in Spanish.
He then asks, “With all due respect since now I’m a father, how old is he?” When the concertgoer seemingly confirms the toddler’s age, Maluma continues, “Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a 1-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are so high?”
The Colombian singer reiterates how loud the sound is in an arena for an infant without earplugs, especially considering the family was seated close to the stage.
“Your baby doesn’t even know what he’s doing here. Next time, protect his ears or something,” he suggests as the crowd applauds to show him support.
But he wasn’t done condemning the fan.
“The truth is that’s an act of irresponsibility, and you were with the boy as if he were a toy,” Maluma added. “That boy really doesn’t want to be here, really.”
He assured the fan that his harsh criticism came from a place of love and respect given that he is a proud parent.
Before continuing with his show, Maluma concluded, “I didn’t give birth, but I would never have brought a 1-year-old to a concert. So next time, be a little bit more aware, OK?”
As the Grammy-nominated artist mentioned, he became a father for the first time last year when he and his girlfriend, Susana Gomez, welcomed a baby girl together. He shared the news of her arrival on Instagram, revealing in Spanish that their child was born March 9, 2024, at 8:23 a.m. and her name is Paris Londoño Gomez.
He uploaded a black-and-white photo of the newborn’s tiny hand and another picture of him sweetly kissing Gomez on the head as she cradled their daughter.
“Thank you all for your birthday messages and well wishes. Susana.. Love: Thank you for fulfilling my biggest dream of being a Father, I will never forget that moment,” his translated caption read.
