Karol G Says New Album Is ‘Not My Goodbye’ — but Teases ‘Different Things’ Next: EXCLUSIVE

Colombian superstar Karol G is hinting at what the future may hold for her — music included or not.

In an exclusive clip from an upcoming interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, dropping in full June 23, the “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” singer opened up about what could be next for her after the release of her new album, “Tropicoqueta.”

“Do you think about life away from this one day?” Lowe asked her. “At least not as intense as this one day?”

“I really think so,” she replied. “I think I have been waiting for the moment for so long. But right now, I think with this album … it’s not a ‘bye.’ It’s not my goodbye.

“I think I want I see myself in the way that I wanted to see myself all my life. I don’t know how to explain this, but this is my chance for me because I did things on the way (where) I was just taking opportunities. But this album was created from zero, so I’m creating everything from zero: my tour, everything.”

She discussed how “Tropicoqueta” is a full dive and commitment to music, independent from other opportunities that came along her way.

“For everything that is coming, I’m going to be my biggest version because of myself, because of how I want to see myself,” the singer says. “So I think after this I’m going to be ready to take my next step to explore all different things in my life.”

Karol G spoke May 6 on TODAY about her documentary, “Karol G: Tomorrow was Beautiful,” allowing viewers to gain more insight on her life.

“I think I just put in my mind that this is what I really wanna do,” she told Al Roker, Craig Melvin and Dylan Dreyer. “I really enjoy to be on tour, on stage, even doing music in the studio is my favorite part. I think if you’re doing what you love, you can stand by for yourself and fight for yourself.”

Over a year after breaking the TODAY’s Citi Concert Series’ attendance record with over 15,000 fans, Karol G is ready to show the world her best work with “Tropicoqueta,” now available on all streaming platforms.
