There’s a new “Jeopardy!” champion putting his name in the record books.
Scott Riccardi, an engineer from Somerville, New Jersey, won his 15th consecutive game on the July 23 episode of the popular game show.
Riccardi won $40,008 to push his total earnings on the program to $430,910. His 15-game winning streak is the longest since Adriana Harmeyer accomplished the same feat last season. Only 10 people have ever won 16 or more games, a club Riccardi can join by winning his next game on the July 24 episode.
Riccardi couldn’t be caught heading into Final Jeopardy! He still got the final clue in the category famous buildings.
The clue? “Opened in 1902, it’s 87 feet in width on the 22nd Street side & less than 7 feet wide at its narrowest point on 23rd Street.” The answer was the Flatiron Building in New York City.
With his victory, Riccardi continued his ascent in the annals of great “Jeopardy!” champions. His $430,910 is good enough for eighth place on the Leaderboard of Legends for highest winnings in regular season play.

“Jeopardy!” host Ken Jennings holds the record for most money won in regular season play on the show, with $2,520,700. Brad Rutter is the leader for all-time winnings including tournaments, with $4,938,436.
James Holzhauer owns the record for highest earnings in a single game, with $131,127. Holzhauer, in fact, has the 10 highest single-game winnings.
Who Has the Longest Winning Streak in ‘Jeopardy!’ History?
Jennings sits alone atop the leaderboard with 74 straight wins. Amy Schneider is next with 40, while Matt Amodio is third with 38. Holzhauer is fourth with 32 straight wins.
If Riccardi manages to win his 16th consecutive game, he’ll tie Ryan Long for 10th on the all-time list.
