“The Valley” star Janet Caperna took to social media to share some sweet moments from her planned family vacation to Switzerland.
In joint Instagram posts with her husband, fellow reality television star Jason Caperna, the mother of one shared photos and videos of what looked like their blissful trip to the Swiss cities of Lucerne and Lugano over the past week.
In a July 2 post, the couple shared a carousel of photos from Lucerne, which included shots of them watching the sunset with their son Cameron, 18 months, and exploring the Swiss alps via cable car, sled and on foot. They captioned the post, “Showing our baby the world,” with a red heart emoji.
In another compilation of photos, posted July 5, the family of three were seen wading into pools “in the clouds,” enjoying chocolate and fondue, stopping by McDonald’s and playing with bubbles.
The Capernas social media posts come amid multiple reports that Janet Caperna fled the United States after receiving online hate as Bravo series “The Valley” aired its second season.
The reality show is a spin-off of Bravo hit โVanderpump Rulesโ and follows the married lives of five couple navigating West Hollywood, including the Capernas.
Currently, her social media has been set to private, though any joint posts with her husband are still visible to the public.
On a July 2 episode of her podcast, โThis Side of the Hill,โ which she hosts with Jared Lipscomb, Janet Caperna said sheโs received โdisturbingโ messages lately and addressed why she decided to make her social media private.
โItโs gotten so dark and bad almost on a daily basis of threats and slurs and things that now I decided to make all of my social media completely private and being very cautious about what I share, especially about my family,โ Janet Caperna said.
She said she was โtaking a break from socialsโ after receiving hateful and threatening messages, adding, โIt makes me want to hide or not interact with strangers.โ
Janet Caperna clarified that she appreciates constructive criticism concerning her decisions on “The Valley,” but said the recent messages go “beyond” the “hundreds” of insults she receives as a public figure. She noted that the messages include death threats, threats to her family and racial slurs.
โIf youโre feeling so bothered by (โThe Valleyโ) that youโre using racial slurs and threatening people, reality TV is not for you,โ she added.
