Jamie Lee Curtis Gave Lindsay Lohan This Career Advice on Day One of ‘Freaky Friday’

Jamie Lee Curtis’ words of wisdom have stood the test of time for Lindsay Lohan.

The two Hollywood stars, who first worked together as the iconic mother-daughter duo in the 2003 film “Freaky Friday,” attended the TODAY Show Radio Town Hall on SiriusXM July 28 to talk about their upcoming sequel, “Freakier Friday.”

During the event, moderator Hoda Kotb asked Lohan what her first impression of Curtis was while filming the original movie.

Lohan recalled a piece of advice the “Everything Everywhere All at Once” star gave her during the first day on set.

“One thing Jamie said to me that sticks with me whenever I go to set — the first thing I think about and will always keep with me — is that she said, ‘Remember, when you go to your set, however you show up that day is the way that everyone else is going to feel on that set. So always bring a positive energy, positive mindset, positive attitude to the people that you work with,'” she said.

Lohan, who was a teenager when she starred and appeared in “Freaky Friday,” said the advice proved to be “so important” as she went on to star in films like “Mean Girls” and “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.”

Curtis was then asked the same question: What was her first impression of Lohan on the “Freaky Friday” set? But what seemed like a simple question had a not-so-simple answer.

“You know, I was stepping into a job where I was going to be a 37-year-old and a 15-year-old sort of simultaneously, and that (Lindsay) was going to do the same thing,” she recalled.

However, Curtis said the complexity of their characters ultimately helped them bond quickly.

“I think it was just that it’s trust,” she said. “It’s like, you know, ‘We’re going to enter this weird place together.’”

The film’s sequel marks the first time the two have shared the big screen since 2003 — but Curtis insisted “Freakier Friday” is not a reunion.

“Everybody’s like, ‘How is it reuniting?’ Like, reuniting? We’ve been united,” Curtis explained “We don’t need to reunite, because we’ve been united since we knew each other all those years ago.”

Curtis recalled Lohan bringing her son, Luai — born in July 2023 — to her home when he was less than a year old. And even before he arrived, Curtis was helping Lohan prepare for motherhood.

In a June 2023 interview with Allure, Lohan, who was pregnant at the time, shared the parenting advice Curtis gave her.

“She was like, ‘You just bring the baby with you and everything will be fine.’”
