Could we be getting new Taylor Swift music AND her first appearance on the “New Heights” podcast?
Is another era about to begin?
Swifties were sent into a frenzy Aug. 11 when the Instagram account for “New Heights,” the podcast featuring Swift’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, and his brother, retired NFL star Jason Kelce, teased a major guest for its next episode.
“92%ers, we’re coming back early for a special episode with a VERY special guest,” the caption says. “New episode Wednesday 7PM ET.”
Jason Kelce also appears to be wearing Swift merchandise from the “Eras Tour.” The middle of the graphic features a silhouette of a woman as the mystery guest.
“It’s been a long time coming….” one fan commented.
“I would recognize the silhouette of those bangs from a mile away,” another wrote.
“Yall really know how to get the swifties riled up on a Monday morning,” another commented.
Also on Aug. 11, Taylor Nation, a social media account affiliated with Swift’s team, shared a post with a carousel of photos of Swift performing in orange outfits. The background of the “New Heights” announcement is also orange.
“Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’ ❤️🔥,” the caption reads.
Eagle-eyed fans remember that line from Swift’s official “Eras Tour” book, which serves as a retrospective of her massive “Eras Tour” that concluded in December 2024. At the end of another Instagram video from Taylor Nation that month, the same words appear: “See you next era…”
TS12 Incoming? Is Taylor Swift Releasing New Music?
Fans took it as a sign that a new album is forthcoming.
“She knows what she’s doing here and truthfully it’s not fair because now my all my thoughts are consumed 🧡,” one fan commented.
“OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING!??? 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡,” another wrote.
Fans also noted connections between the “New Heights” and “Taylor Nation” posts to speculate that Swift is going to officially announce the new album during an appearance on the podcast.
“This and the @newheightshow teaser with the orange sparkly background (when they’re usually yellow) and jason wearing a midnights tay sweater and travis having 2 mics in front of him as if the guest is with him…. she’s gonna announce it on the pod isn’t she,” one fan commented.
Dedicated Swifties, who know how much the singer enjoys puzzles and Easter eggs, dug even deeper into the symbolism of the posts.
“TN POSTED 12 MINUTES AFTER NEW HEIGHTS, the 12th word in new heights was capitalized, taylor nation posted 12 PICTURES WITH TAYLOR IN ALL ORANGE, talking about the next ERA, 2 days from now is the 13th (new heights episode) AND JASON IS WEARING TAYLOR MERCH,” one person wrote on X.
For the record, the next original studio album Swift releases would be her 12th. She has also released rerecorded versions of four of those albums.
The new episode of “New Heights” will be released on streaming services Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. ET, which is also a departure from the normal morning release.
