Heidi Klum isn’t letting backlash from modeling lingerie with her daughter phase her.
In October, Klum, now 52, and daughter Leni, now 21, joined forces for a campaign with lingerie and sleepwear brand Intimissimi. The photos and video of the mother and daughter in bra and underwear sets didn’t sit well with some commenters online.
While more positive fans described the ad as “beautiful,” others wrote things like, “Cringe and weird. Would never do this with mom,” in the comments section of Leni’s Instagram post.
Klum addressed the reactions in an interview with People published July 28.
“A lot of people are like, ‘Oh, I don’t know about mom and daughter doing this together.’ But for us? I’m proud of my daughter. She’s fine with me like that,” she said.
“I’ve always been very open with my body,” she continued. “When I’m suntanning in the backyard, I might not have a top on. I’m European … my kids don’t know me any other way and are probably more easygoing with their bodies because of it.”
The video associated with the campaign opened with the duo sitting side by side on a couch, donning complementary lace underwear and long-sleeve tops. They also had a photo shoot with one another in lingerie sets.
Klum shared the campaign at the time to her Instagram page, writing that her and her daughter “had so much fun shooting this.”
This wasn’t the pair’s first campaign with Intimissimi, though. The two have been modeling with the brand since 2022 and have received similarly mixed comments over the years.
After their debut campaign, in which the lingerie-clad Klum and Leni danced and lip-synched to opera music, the younger Klum told Page Six that she “honestly didn’t look at a lot of the reactions.”
“I am overall happy with the campaign, and I had an amazing day with my mom,” she said. “I think the photos turned out great, and we had an amazing time.”
Leni added of the comments, “I just don’t look at it, honestly. If I don’t look at it, I don’t have to pay any attention to it, so I just don’t know what is there.”
Klum welcomed her firstborn with ex Flavio Briatore. She also has three other children from her marriage to Seal: sons Henry, 19, and Johan, 18, as well as daughter Lou, 15.
